CompTIA has unveiled its revamped advanced cybersecurity certification, SecurityX, replacing the long-standing CASP+ credential. This rebranding reflects CompTIA’s commitment to equipping cybersecurity professionals with the skills needed to navigate an ever-evolving threat landscape. The new certification aims to validate expertise in areas like governance, risk management, and complex security architecture.
The SecurityX certification will launch with a new exam, CAS-005, scheduled for release on December 17, 2024. This updated exam will replace CAS-004, aligning the certification with modern industry requirements.
Targeted at senior security engineers and security architects, SecurityX is part of CompTIA’s “Xpert Series,” which focuses on high-level, role-specific certifications. While current CASP+ holders will retain their certification status, new holders will earn the SecurityX credential upon passing the updated exam.
This move underscores CompTIA’s effort to keep its certifications relevant and tailored to today’s cybersecurity challenges, positioning SecurityX as a crucial qualification for experienced professionals in the field.
